Pub Fined For Fake And Watered Down Vodka
A west Belfast pub has been found guilty of selling fake Smirnoff vodka.
Suffolk Inn Ltd has been fined £1000 after analysis of samples taken from an optic of "Smirnoff Vodka', found it was not genuine, and that it had been watered down.
Belfast City Council brought the case against the bars owners.

Co Down Bar Owner Fined For Selling Counterfeit Vodka
A Co Down bar owner has been fined for selling counterfeit vodka at Downpatrick Magistrates' Court. Mr Patrick Robert Maginn, 55, from Newcastle, pleaded guilty to three charges and was fined £6,000. In a case brought by the Trading Standards Service (TSS) of the Department for the Economy, he was charged under Section 92 of Trade Marks Act 1994.

THE Garrick Bar in Chichester Street, Belfast, has been fined £3,000 plus costs, following charges brought by the Trading Standards Service, under the Trade Marks Act 1994. The charges were in relation to the substitution of Smirnoff vodka with another brand of vodka.

Girl found dead in County Donegal took overdose
A teenage girl who was found dead in a field near Lifford in County Donegal, is thought to have taken a lethal mixture of vodka and morphine tablets. The body of Geraldine Chambers, 14, was found at around 10am on Monday morning, when police received a call that two girls were lying in a field in Ballindrait, two miles away from Lifford.
