Men Cut From Car After Serious Road Crash On M1

Two men had to be cut from a car following a serious road accident on the M1, near Portadown in County Armagh.

Emergency services attended the scene at the Birches Roundabout at approximately 11.30am on Tuesday.

The vehicle collided with a concrete bollard.

The Northern Ireland Fire Service used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the two men.

They have been taken to hospital where there condition is not yet known.

Police Appeal After Man Attacked In Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The assault happened in the North Road area at around 3.30am on Sunday, 29 January. A gang of four or five men attacked the victim, aged 37. He was taken to hospital where his condition has been described as "serious".

Mortar Men Due In Court
Two men charged over the discovery of four mortar bombs in a van in L'Derry on Sunday night, are due to appear in court. Both men, aged 35 and 37, face charges of possession of explosives with intent to endanger life, possession of articles for terrorist purposes and conspiracy to cause an explosion.
