DUP's Gregory Campbell Accused Of 'Schoolboy Behaviour'

The DUP's Gregory Campbell has been barred from speaking in the assembly for what has been described as "schoolboy behaviour" in a protest over the Irish language.

It is claimed that Mr Campbell "yawned loudly" while Sinn Féin's Caitriona Ruane spoke in Irish.

Speaker Mitchel McLaughlin said that the DUP MLA had been "blatantly disrespectful" during Monday's Assembly Commission.

Man Dies In Co Down Farming Accident

A man in his 70s has died in a farming accident in County Down.

The victim has been named as Richard Sharvin, and is said to have died in an accident involving a tractor on a farm close to Strangford village.

The Health and Safety Executive has confirmed that it is investigating the incident.

Michael Longley Given Freedom Of Belfast

Michael Longley, the acclaimed poet, will today be presented with the freedom of Belfast.

The poet is being honoured for his contribution to literature and cultural life in Belfast.

His notable accolades to date include the Whitbread Poetry Award, the TS Eliot Prize and the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry.

He held the post of Professor of Poetry for Ireland from 2007 to 2010.

Man Killed In Farming Incident
A man has died in a farming accident in Co Fermanagh. The victim, 71, is thought to have been attacked by cattle on his farm near Ballinamallard. The incident happened over the weekend. An investigation is now being carried out by the Health and Safety Executive.

Newry Teen Dies In Farming Accident
A teenage girl has lost her life during a farming accident in Newry. The tragic 14 year-old has been named locally as Abbie Nummy. She died following an accident on Saturday afternoon, 30 November. Abbie was a pupil of Newry High School. The PSNI is preparing a report for the Coroner's office following the sudden death.

Man Dies In Farming Accident
A man, believed to be in his 80s, has died following a farming accident in Co Tyrone. He is thought to have been hit by a tractor on a farm in the Loughnamarve Road in Pomeroy. The Health and Safety Executive has confirmed it is investigating the incident. No further details have been released.

Man dies in farming accident
A man has died in a farming accident in Co Armagh. The incident occurred at around 5.30pm last night when the man, who is believed to be in his 70's, became trapped under a tractor. Police are currently investigating the incident which occurred on the Ballymore Road near Tandragee.

Dublin Airport To Stage Emergency Exercise
Dublin Airport has announced that it will stage an emergency exercise on Thursday, 28 September to test the readiness of the airport and other agencies to deal with a major incident. Required under safety regulations and held bi-annually, the emergency exercise will take place between 11am and 1pm.
