50 New Jobs To Be Created In Cork
Malawarebytes, the company founded to protect people and businesses from next-generation cyberthreats, is to create 50 new jobs in Cork over the next three years.
The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
Malwarebytes was founded in 2008 by Marcin Kleczynski to tackle advanced online threats which consistently escape detection by traditional anti-virus tools. The proprietary and innovative software protects both consumers and businesses using intelligent heuristics and behaviour-based technologies which are specifically designed to counteract the latest, most advanced, online threats. With global headquarters in Silicon Valley, USA, the fast growing company has already been nominated as one of Forbes Magazine's 'America's Most Promising Companies' this year.
Minister Bruton said: "Technology is a key sector which we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs, and in the past three years we have seen an impressive jobs performance in this area. Today’s announcement that Malwarebytes is establishing a new facility in Cork with the creation of 50 jobs is another important boost. I am determined to ensure that with the right policies we can see continued job growth and create an extra 40,000 jobs across the country this year."

Fine Gael TD for Cork North West, Áine Collins, has said that recent Enterprise Ireland employment figures show that Cork is going from strength to strength with thousands of extra jobs created over the last three years. A total of 250 jobs are to be created following the expansion of driver training and instruction company SIM2Learn, it has been announced. The company has its headquarters in Galway, and operates from centres in Dublin, Cork, Sligo and Letterkenny.

Fine Gael Cork North West Deputy, Áine Collins, has said recent figures from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, which show that in excess of 4,000 net jobs have been created by Enterprise Ireland (EI) and IDA-supported companies since Fine Gael and Labour came to power, are proof that the Government’s jobs strategy is working.

145 IT Jobs For Cork
Cork has received news of another jobs boost, with 145 new posts to be created in the IT sector. The announcement was made by American computer firm Option Wireless, with the opportunities being distributed over the next three years. Enterprise Minister Mary Coughlan welcomed the firm's expansion.
