Staff Left 'Badly Shaken' Following Armed Robbery In East Belfast

Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a shop in east Belfast on Monday night.

Two masked men, one of which is believed to have had a firearm, entered the shop on the Albertbridge Road area at around 9.45pm, and stole a number of items.

The men made off on foot.

Both men are described as around 6ft tall, one was wearing a light jacket and dark jeans and the other was wearing black jeans and a dark jacket.

No one was injured during the incident, however the staff were left very badly shaken.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Further Arrests In Pat McCormick Murder Probe
Detectives investigating the disappearance and murder of William (Pat) McCormick have arrested two men. The 55-year-old father of four was last seen on the evening of Thursday 30 May in Comber, County Down. He has not made contact with his family since and police believe he has sadly been killed.

Police have warned people to be vigilant after bogus callers attempted to rob a pensioner in County Down. The incident happened at around 2.30pm yesterday, when a boy called to the 86-year-old woman's home at Vianstown in Downpatrick, claiming that he had kicked his football into her back garden.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Brian McIlhagga
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Brian McIlhagga. A gang of masked men dragged the 42-year-old victim from a house in the Riverview Park area in Ballymoney on 05 January 2015. He was beaten and shot in a paramilitary-style attack.
