Police Appeal After Man Grabs Teen In Ballygowan

Police have launched an investigation after a teenage girl was grabbed by a man, who tried to pull her into his car in Ballygowan, County Down, on Saturday night.

The incident occurred in the Comber Road area at around 10pm.

The 15-year-old girl managed to pull herself away from the man, who was asking her for directions at the time.

However, when she told the man she did not know the location, he got out of his car and grabbed her by the arm. He attempted to pull her into his car but she managed to kick him and run away.

The man is described as being in his late 20s with short dark hair. He was wearing a hooded top and jeans.

Police in Newtownards are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Woman Grabbed By Man Escapes In Passing Car
A woman escaped a man from attacking her by jumping into a passing car. The woman, aged in her 20s, was grabbed by a man as she was asking on Seymour Street in Lisburn, shortly before midnight on Monday, 13 June. Police also believe the man may have approached another woman a few minutes before.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Colin Horner Murder: Man Arrested
A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Colin Horner. Mr Horner, 35, was fatally shot in front of his young son in a supermarket car park on Sunday, 28 May. The man was arrested in the Newtownards area on Friday, 16 June. He has been taken to Musgrave Police station for questioning.
