Peace II funding discussions held
The Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) is holding a series of round table discussions on the Peace II Programme across Northern Ireland.
The meetings, in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA), are being held with community and voluntary groups across the province and border regions, focusing on the impact that the Peace II programme is now having on community divisions.
The consultations follow on from changes to the administration of the programme that have simplified both the application and monitoring processes.
Commenting on the discussions, Shaun Henry, Peace II Director of the SEUPB, said: "One of the things that has pleased me the most is the positive response that I am finding at ground-level where funding is targeted.
"Groups are now seeing the real impact that Peace II is having on transforming local communities."
The Special EU Programmes Body is one of the six cross border Bodies established under the Good Friday Agreement.
The Body's remit includes operating as the Managing Authority for EU programmes, the Programme for Peace and Reconciliation in Northern Ireland and the Border Counties of Ireland (Peace II) and INTERREG IIIA.

Voting Underway Across Northern Ireland
Poll are open across Northern Ireland as part of the UK-wide General Election. A total of 136 candidates are competing across 18 constituencies. 127 of the candidates represent 11 total political parties, with the other 9 standing as independents. Eligible voters can cast their vote until 10pm tonight.

Peace Centre Funding Withdrawn
European Union funding of £18m for the peace centre at the former Maze prison has been withdrawn, after parties were unable to agree on the details surrounding the development. The Special European Programmes Body said it had removed the financial support after consulting with the Office of the First and deputy First Minister.

Sir Keir Starmer Visits Northern Ireland Police College
PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher has welcomed Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, to the Northern Ireland Police College, Garnerville, on Monday 19 August. The Chief Constable and Sir Keir met a number of officers injured during recent disorder in Belfast and L'Derry.
