Two People Assaulted In Belfast

Two people have been assaulted in north Belfast.

It is understood a man, aged 21, has been arrested in connection with the attacks.

At around 3am on Sunday (1 March), an 18-year-old woman and 46-year-old man were attacked in the Castleton Avenue area. The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which have been described as not life-threatening.

Police have said a 21-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Man Assaulted In Ballycastle
A man has sustained a serious head injury after being assaulted in Ballycastle. The 28-year-old was attacked on Castle Street at around 2.30am on Sunday, 29 October. A 32-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of grevous bodily harm. The victim is currently being treated in hospital.

Teen Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Gerard Quinn
A teenager has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old man in L'Derry. Gerard Quinn was attacked in the Milldale Crescent area at around 10.25pm on Saturday, 21 May. He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he later died.

Teenager Charged Over Murder Of Gerard Quinn
A teenager has been charged with the murder of Gerard Quinn. Mr Quinn, 24, was attacked in the Milldale Crescent area in L'Derry at around 10.25pm on Saturday, 21 May. He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he later died. Another 24-year-old man was also assaulted, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Man Sentenced Over PSNI Knife Attack
A 42-year-old man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for assaulting a police officer. The man was sentenced at Craigavon Crown Court for wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, attempted wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, assault on police, affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

Three remanded on assault charges
Three men have been remanded in custody accused of assaulting a doorman at a Belfast pub. Brian Bratty, 34, from Castlerobin Road was charged with causing grevious bodily harm with intent and affray.
