Intelligent Environments Europe Creates 50 New Jobs
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster today announced that London-based Intelligent Environments Europe Ltd is setting up a software engineering operation in Belfast, creating 50 highly skilled jobs.
Intelligent Environments provides mobile and online software to providers of financial services, such as retail banks, card providers and car finance companies.
Arlene Foster said: "Once again Northern Ireland has been chosen as the optimum location by an internationally successful IT company looking to expand. This is due to our cost-competitive, business-friendly environment, our pool of skilled IT graduates and professionals, and the support offered by Invest Northern Ireland.
"Intelligent Environments is a high growth company and, over the next three years, it aims to create a world-class software engineering team in Belfast serving digital financial services.
"The investment is creating up to 50 highly skilled jobs that will generate over £2.1million annually to the local economy. The company is also investing in training and this will introduce new technical skills into Northern Ireland.
"Intelligent Environments' digital financial services platform is viewed as a leading technology in the industry and the company is a welcome addition to our growing ICT sector."

More Than 15,000 Jobs Created In 2014
Over 15,000 new jobs were created by IDA Ireland client companies last year. When job losses were taken into account, the net increase in employment was 7,131, one of the highest net levels of job creation in a decade. Total employment at IDA client companies now stands at 174,488 people, the highest level in the history of IDA Ireland.

Jobs' Initiative Travel Tax To Remain
The Government has decided to retain the €3 Travel Tax pending a further review next spring. As part of the Jobs Initiative, it was announced that the €3 Travel Tax would be suspended subject to a deal being reached with airlines to re-instate cancelled routes and restore lost capacity.
