Belfast Student Found Dead In Sligo
A 23-year-old student from Belfast has been found dead in Sligo.
The body of Jamie Shaw was found at student accommodation at the Clarion Village, near to the Institute of Technology Sligo, at around 4pm on Monday (23 February).
A post-mortem is due to be carried out, but his death is not being treated as suspicious.
In a statement from IT Sligo, it is understood Shaw had been feeling unwell for a few days and was confined to his apartment.
Professor Vincent Cunnane, President at IT Sligo & IT Sligo Students Union, said: "The staff and students of IT Sligo extend sincerest condolences to the Shaw family at this desperately sad time.
"The full range of the Institute's counselling and support services are being made available to Jamie's family, flatmate, classmates and friends."

Plans Announced For New Queen's Student Centre
Plans have been announced for a new Student Centre for Queen's University in Belfast. The proposals also include a new Students' Union facility to be developed on the site of the current Students' Union building. The project is due to commence in 2019 and open in September 2021.
