Taxi Driver Injured During Hijacking

Police are appealing for information after a taxi-driver was injured during the hijacking of his car in west Belfast.

The driver is currently in hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the incident.

The taxi was found burnt out in Hannahstown on the outskirts of west Belfast on Tuesday night.

The driver was sitting in his car in the Distillery Street area on Tuesday night when he was approached by two males shortly before 20:00 who asked for directions.

They then pulled the driver out of his silver Toyota Avensis before driving off in the vehicle. The victim injured his shoulder and back during the hijacking.

His taxi was found on fire on Rusheyhill Road in Hannahstown a short while later.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A man has been injured following the hijacking of a car in West Belfast. The incident occurred on the Whitecliff Parade area on 16 May. The fast food delivery driver was sitting in his car and approached by two men at approximately 5.35pm. One of the men asked the victim if he was a taxi driver.

Taxi Driver Injured In Brick Attack
