Police treat assault on Coleraine man as murder bid
Police are treating an attack on a man in Co Londonderry as attempted murder.
The 41-year-old was found with severe head injuries as he lay in the doorway of business premises in Coleraine at around 5am on Monday.
It is believed he was assaulted in the Church Street area of the town before staggering to nearby New Row where he was later found.
Hospital staff described his condition as "serious but stable".
Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the attack to contact them.

Man Arrested Over Attempted Murder Of Off-Duty Police Officer
A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of an off-duty police officer in Co L'Derry. A viable under-car bomb was discovered outside a house in the Ardanlee area on 22 February last year. Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene. No-one was injured.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder Following Crossbow Attack
A man has been charged with attempted murder following a crossbow attack in south Belfast on Wednesday evening. A 29-year-old man was shot with a crossbow while he was in a parked car in the Belgravia Avenue area. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. A woman was also in the car at the time of the attack but was not injured.

South Belfast murder victim named
The man who was found murdered near playing fields in south Belfast on Sunday has been named. He was 30-year-old Ian Samuel Flanagan of Donegall Avenue in Belfast. Mr Flanagan was originally from Keady in Co Armagh. The body was found at 8am on Sunday morning behind a hockey pitch close to Queen's playing fields.
