Dungannon firm secure £1.5m US and Russian deals

A Co Tyrone company has secured two contracts worth an estimated £1.5 million in the US and Russia.

The deal is a boost for Dungannon-based Powerscreen International which makes portable screening and recycling equipment for the quarrying and construction industries.

Its Russian order will see it supply equipment to a number of ports to size and grade coal for export markets.

The contract in the US is with a company in Iowa for processing construction and demolition waste.

These deals are a further boost for the firm which has seen a 17% increase in overseas sales between 2000 and 2002 as well as total orders of £5 million since March.

Earlier this year, the company won the Northern Ireland Exporter of the Year award.
