Man Shot Dead At Wedding Is Named

Police have revealed the name of a man who was shot dead at a wedding in Co Fermanagh on Wednesday.

Barney McGinley, who was in his 60s, was shot close to St Mary's Catholic Church in the village of Newtownbutler at around 1pm yesterday (11 February). He was airlifted to hospital by a PSNI helicopter, but later died from his injuries.

A second man, said to be in his 30s, was also injured in the shooting, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

It is understood the wedding at the church involved two families from the Travelling community.

Today, police said they are following a "definite line of enquiry".

Police Appeal After Man Shot Dead In Bangor
Police are appealing for information following the murder of Colin Horner, who was shot in front of his three-year-old son at Sainbury's car park in Bangor on Sunday, 28 May. The boy was in the car at the time of the attack. It is understood Mr Horner, originally from Co Antrim, has loyalist links.
