10,000 ecstasy tablets recovered by police

Police have recovered 10,000 ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of £10,000 in north Belfast last night.

The drugs were recovered after a car was stopped at Fortwilliam Park at around 9pm on Thursday night.

A 22-year-old man, who was driving the car, ran off but was later apprehended and arrested by police. He is currently helping them with their enquiries.

Meanwhile, a teenager has suffered gun shot wounds to both legs after a paramilitary-style attack in east Belfast last night.

The 17-year-old was forced into an alleyway at Gawn Street, off the Newtownards Road where the shooting took place.

Man Arrested And Firearm Recovered In West Belfast
A 33-year-old man has been arrested and a suspected firearm recovered during a police operation in west Belfast on the evening og Sunday, 07 July. Inspector McCullough said: "Officers carried out planned searches at two properties in the Kashmir Road area of the city – where a suspected firearm and other items were seized from one of the addresses.

Man's Body Recovered From Bangor Marina
Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from Bangor Marina on Wednesday, 13 May. Police received a report that a man had entered the water shortly after 10.15am. Emergency services and police attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

21-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With North Belfast Murder
Detectives from PSNIs Serious Crime Branch have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in North Belfast Police received a report from the Ambulance Service just after 9pm last night, Thursday 28 June, that they were attending to a seriously injured male who they had located in the area of Parkmount Street / Seaview Close.
