L'Derry Walls Daubed With Graffiti

L'Derry's city walls have been vandalised with 'anti-internment' graffiti, police have said.

Paint was daubed on the walls overlooking the Bogside between 02:00 and 06:00 in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Men Released In Dissident Probe

Three men have been released unconditionally by police, following their arrest over suspected dissident republican activity.

The men, aged, 32, 34 and 41, were arrested in west Belfast and Antrim town on Monday afternoon.

They were questioned at Antrim police station before being released without charge.

Arrests Over Portadown Cannabis Factory

Police have arrested three people following the discovery of a cannabis factory in Portadown, County Armagh on Monday.

Two men aged 43 and 20 and a 43-year-old woman were detained after police searched a property in the Glenmahon Park.

Suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £4,000 was seized.

Company Fined For Contravening Discharge Consent

A County Tyrone company has been fined £7,000 at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court today for contravening the conditions of a discharge consent.

Roughan Care Limited, of Newmills, Dungannon, pleaded guilty.

The charges followed the collection of a sample on 3 June 2014 from Roughan Care Limited, Newmills, Dungannon. It showed that the suspended solids content was 262 milligrammes per litre against a consent limit of 120 milligrammes per litre. The effluent was, therefore, judged as being unsuitable for discharge.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Two men have been charged in connection with a suspected drugs find in Belfast. Police seized cocaine and herbal cannabis, worth an estimated street value of £160,000, after stopping a car in the Duncrue Street area on Wednesday night, 08 February.

Man Charged Over £16,000 Cannabis Find
A 22-year-old man has been charged after £16,000 worth of cannabis plants were seized in L'Derry. The discovery was made after police searched a house in the Waterside area on Friday, 22 September. The suspect has been accused of growing cannabis, possession of a Class B drug and intent to supply.

Two Cannabis Factories Uncovered In County Down
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the discovery of two cannabis factories in County Down. At around 9:25am on Sunday 29th January, police received a report of a disturbance in the Kilkinamurry Road area of Ballyward.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Brian McIlhagga
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Brian McIlhagga. A gang of masked men dragged the 42-year-old victim from a house in the Riverview Park area in Ballymoney on 05 January 2015. He was beaten and shot in a paramilitary-style attack.
