Police Station Alert Discovered To Be A Hoax

A security alert has ended after a suspicious object found in a car close to an east Belfast police station was declared an "elaborate hoax".

Residents in the Woodstock Road area had to evacuate their homes at about 21:00 on Sunday evening, while nearby Church services were also interrupted. Many roads in the area were closed off as a result of the alert.

Army bomb disposal experts were called to examine the object and found it to be a hoax. The security alert ended at about 03:00 on Monday morning.

All roads have since been reopened and residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

Residents had to be evacuated from their homes, while army bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion on the object. Security Alert In L'Derry Ends
A security alert in L'Derry has now ended. A suspicious object was discovered in the Brigade Road area on Thursday afternoon. Residents had to be evacuated from their homes and army bomb experts attended the scene. A controlled explosion was carried out on the object, however nothing harmful was found.
