House Targeted In Arson Attack
A house has been targeted in an arson attack in Portstewart, County Antrim, after flammable liquid was poured through a letterbox.
Police said bins were then placed beside the door of the property in Lever Park and set alight.
A man was inside at the time but managed to escape uninjured.
Firefighters attended the scene at about 04:00 on Friday and brought the fire under control.
Police in County L'Derry have asked anyone with further information to get in touch on 101.
Women Escape Housefire
Two women have escaped a housefire in Ballymoney, County Antrim.
Emergency crews arrived at the house in the Eastermeade Gardens area at about 04:00 on Friday morning.
The women, aged 47 and 17, called for help after becoming trapped in the second floor of the house.
Firefighters entered the property and brought the women to safety. They were taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
Castledawson Land Owner Fined Over Waste Offences
A Castledawson land owner has fined £1,000 for illegally keeping waste at Ballymena Magistrates' Court.
Mrs Frances Menary, of Brough Road, Castledawson, County L'Derry, pleaded guilty to one charge of keeping controlled waste without there being in place an exemption or licence. She was also ordered to pay court costs of £34 and an offenders' levy of £15.
Arrest Over Maghera Armed Robbery
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Maghera, County L'Derry.
A service station in Church Street was targeted at around 21:40 on Thursday evening.
Two men allegedly carrying firearms entered the premises and threatened staff before taking a sum of money. They then fled in a blue Suzuki Swift that had been waiting outside and was driven by a third person.
Officers searched a house in north Belfast and arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of armed robbery.

Belfast Hotel Plan Dropped: Report
A government-supported plan to build a hotel in central Belfast has been scrapped, the BBC has reported. Back in 2007, the Department for Social Development appointed Tullymore House Ltd as preferred developer for Armagh House in the city’s Ormeau Avenue, with plans to convert the building into an upmarket hotel.
