Ballycastle Punch Victim Released From Hospital

A man from Ballycastle, County Antrim has been discharged from hospital in Australia after being left in a critical condition when he was allegedly punched by his brother.

31-year-old Patrick Lyttle fell and hit his head in Sydney on 3 January.

The victim was left on a life support machine at St Vincent's Hospital for just under a week before regaining consciousness.

His 33-year-old brother Barry has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm, however he has been released on bail.

Family Pay Tribute To Michael Monroe
The family of an American man who died while on honeymoon in Northern Ireland have paid tribute. Michael Monroe died and his wife Caroline was injured in a road collision in Co Antrim last Tuesday, 25 September. The crash happened on Gracehill Road in Ballymoney. Caroline's mother Aileen McKenna and brother Will Braaksma issued a statement.

The brother of a Derry GAA footballer is in hospital, following an attack in Co Tyrone. Connor McCusker, the 31-year-old brother of Derry vice-captain Niall McCusker, is in a critically ill condition following the incident which took place yesterday morning.

Priest recovering after shooting in Johannesburg
A Belfast priest who was shot in an attack in South Africa is recovering in hospital. Father Kieran Creagh, 44 was shot by robbers at the Aids hospice he set up in Johannesburg last week. He underwent an operation on Friday to remove a bullet from his lung, and his brother Liam told reporters he has now been taken off his ventilator.
