Construction Firm Fined For Waste Offences

A Craigavon construction company has been fined £1,500 for waste offences.

Down Developments Limited pleaded guilty and was fined £1,500 following three charges of unauthorised waste offending at Craigavon Magistrates' Court.

The company has been ordered to pay court costs of £10, an offenders’ levy of £15 and a compensation order of £3,454.36.

The charges followed an investigation by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, during which it was found that the company was guilty of treating and depositing waste – concrete, brick, soil, clay, plastic, treated wood and metals – at its base in Quarry Business Park, Craigavon between January and September 2013.
