Co Antrim's Ramada Hotel Sold
The Ramada Hotel in Portrush, Co Antrim, has been sold.
According to reports, the premises was sold for more than its asking price of £2.75m. The buyer was City of Derry Hotel Ltd.
The hotel, which is located on Main Street in the town, consists of 69 en-suite bedrooms, a bar and restaurant, conference/banqueting rooms and car parking.
Commenting on the purchase, Chairman of City of Derry Hotels Ltd, Brendan Duddy, is quoted in the media as saying: "There is no no doubt that NI is in the midst of very exciting times in terms of tourism. We have seen a notable uptake of space in the North West region, which gave us the confidence to invest in the Ramada, Portrush.
"We pride ourselves on our reputation to invest in and deliver excellent hotel accommodation and our intention is to roll out an investment programme to enhance the existing Ramada hotel complex."

The Department of the Environment (DOE) has put forward an opinion to approve a new 62 bed hotel in William Street, Derry, as part of a mixed used development at Prince Arthur Street / William Street. DOE Planning officials will seek the views of Derry City Council at a meeting on Tuesday 6 March 2012.

Latest Hotel Opens Today In Belfast
A prestige 169-bedroom hotel - the Ramada Encore - opened today in central Belfast. Part of the redevelopment of the St Anne's Square area, the hotel (pictured) commenced trading in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter on Monday. It has created 60 jobs, despite a report last year which showed a decline in hotel trade in Northern Ireland.
