Teens Arrested Following Armed Hijacking
Two teenage males have been arrested following the hijacking of a vehicle in the Victoria Gardens area of north Belfast.
The incident occurred at about 10:00 on Sunday morning when a woman was ordered out of her car as she pulled up outside her home by a man brandishing a Stanley knife.
The man then left in the woman's car, a silver Honda Jazz, in the direction of Cavehill. Police said the victim was unhurt but left badly shaken by the incident.
The PSNI also said it received reports that a silver car had collided with two parked cars in the Inver Avenue area just after 10:00.
There was then another report that a silver car was driving erratically in the Ross Road area.
Inspector Roy Watton said: "Police attended the area and subsequently arrested two men aged 17 and 19 years on suspicion of hi jacking and other related offences and the car was recovered.
"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed these incident or who has any information which may be of assistance to contact Police at Tennant on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
