American Philanthropist Donates £600,000 To Assembly
An American billionaire philanthropist has donated £600,000 to the Northern Ireland Assembly.
It is the second time that Chuck Feeney has made a donation. The money is to be used to pay for the promotion of women in politics and to offer MLAs courses on speech writing, dealing with the media and how to manage your online reputation.
An additional £60,000 of public money will be spent by the Assembly to help fund the projects.
Mr Feeney's Atlantic Philanthropies made the donation through a charitable fund established by the Irish-American to help "the development of political leadership" at Stormont.

In a debate tabled in the assembly on Human Rights, Democratic Unionist Edwin Poots for Laganvalley attacked the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission for calling for a lift of the ban on homosexuals giving blood.
