New Plans Revealed For North Coast Golf Course Site

An alternative plan for land bought for a golf course on the north coast has been revealed.

The 1,200 acre site near Giant's Causeway had been earmarked for a £100m luxury golf course. However, the plan was abandoned following objections and opposition from environmentalist.

Businessman Dr Peter Fitzgerald, who bought the site last year, has now revealed his plan for a "corporate hospitality centre", which he hopes will attract trade to the area.

Dr Fitzgerald is the founder and managing director of Randox Laboratories.

Speaking on BBC Radio Ulster, he said: "We're going to make it a corporate hospitality centre. We'll be bringing customers and potential customers from all over the world.

"The north coast is a magnificent area, we want people to see that area. We want to interact with them to get more business for Northern Ireland."
