Minister Launches Next Round Of 2015 FE College Open Days
Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry has launched the next round of open days to be held at Northern Ireland's Further Education Colleges.
The Minister said: "The Further Education sector plays a key role in the social and economic development of the people of Northern Ireland.
"Open days are an excellent opportunity for parents and prospective students of all ages to learn more about the wide range of courses and facilities available at their local College.
"Our local Colleges offer a unique learning environment with state-of-the-art facilities, along with quality learning and support services.
"The Colleges also have collaborative links with business and industry to ensure that our courses have strong employment outcomes. Further Education Colleges play a key part in ensuring people have the skills they need to fulfil their potential, get into work, progress in work and contribute to our economy."
Academic, careers and student support staff will be on hand at each open day to advise, guide and help everyone attending. Events will host exhibitions of students work, tours of the facilities, industry seminars, curriculum and careers workshops as well as interactive activities.
The first of the series of open days will be at Belfast Metropolitan College's Titanic Quarter campus on Saturday 31 January (for parents) and Tuesday 24 February (for students) and at South West College's Omagh, Dungannon and Enniskillen campuses on Tuesday 24 February.
