NI House Prices Rise

Northern Ireland house prices rose by 11.7% in the year to November 2014, making it the region with the highest inflation throughout the UK for the period, according to the Office for National Statistics.

House price annual inflation was 10.4% in England, 3.1% in Wales, 4.4% in Scotland and 11.7% in Northern Ireland.

UK house prices increased by 10.0% in the year to November 2014, marking a drop from 10.4% in the year to October 2014.

Prices in London again showed the highest growth. Annual house price increases in England were driven by an annual increase in London of 15.3%.

The report also said average house prices across the UK increased by 0.2% between October and November 2014.

Rise In NI House Prices
Northern Ireland house prices increased by 2.6% in the year to April 2014, according to the latest report from the Office for National Statistics. Although prices are rising again, the increase was still behind a 9.9% rise in the UK. House price annual inflation was 10.4% in England, 3.3% in Wales and 4.8% in Scotland.

NI House Prices To Increase By 4%
Northern Ireland house prices are to rise by more than 4% over 2014, according to a new report from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Despite the increase, Northern Ireland prices will rise least out of all the UK regions, with the north east of England just behind at 5%.

NI Unemployment Falls, Yet Slower Than UK
Unemployment in Northern Ireland continues to fall, albeit slower than the rest of the UK, according to the latest figures released by the Labour Force Survey (LFS). The unemployment figure for the period January - March 2014 was 7.2%, down 0.1% from the rate recorded in the previous quarter and down 0.9% from the rate recorded one year ago.
