Three men arrested in McGurk murder investigation

Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Danny McGurk at the weekend.

Mr McGurk, 35, was shot dead outside his Ross Road home in the lower Falls area of west Belfast on Sunday.

Mr McGurk's wife and some of his children were also at home when he was killed.

The father-of-six was immediately taken to Royal Victoria Hospital, where he died a short time later.

A number of items were taken away for forensic examination following today's arrests.

Man questioned in connection with McGurk murder
Police are questioning a 42-year-old man in connection with the ongoing inquiry into the murder of a Belfast man in August. Danny McGurk, 35, was shot dead outside his Ross Road home in the lower Falls area of west Belfast. Mr McGurk's wife and some of his children were also at home when he was killed.

Fourth person arrested in McGurk murder
A fourth person has been arrested by police investigating the murder of Danny McGurk at the weekend. Three men and a woman are now being questioned by police after the father-of-six was shot dead outside his Ross Road home in the lower Falls area of west Belfast on Sunday.

Man Arrested Over McGurk's Bombing
A man has been arrested over the bombing of McGurk's bar in Belfast in 1971, in which 15 people were killed. Police arrested the man in County Antrim and he was taken to Antrim police station for questioning. The attack on McGurk's bar was carried out on 4 December, 1971 by the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF).

McGurk's Bar Bomb: Man Arrested
A 75-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a bomb attack on a bar in north Belfast that became one of the worst atrocities carried out during the Troubles. The UVF claimed responsibility for the bomb attack on McGurk’s Bar in 1971 in which 15 people were killed. Detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime Branch arrested the man in east Belfast.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
