Greyabbey Road Improvement Scheme Begins
Preparatory work on a £315,000 road improvement scheme is underway in Greyabbey.
The improvements are being carried out at Church Street/Ballywalter Road and will involve the reconstruction and resurfacing of a 1.7km section of road.
Work on the scheme is expected to be completed by the end of January 2015.
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength, shape and surface quality of the carriageway of this important B Class link road between Greyabbey and Ballywalter."
Rory McIlroy Misses Out On SPOTY Award
Rory McIlroy has missed out on being named this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2014.
The golfer was named runner-up, coming in second to Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton. Athlete Jo Pavey came in third in the vote.
McIlroy, 25, who was also shortlisted for the award in 2011 and 2012, secured his first Open Championship in July. Just weeks later, he won the US PGA Championship. He also secured victory at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and was part of this year's winning Ryder Cup team.
Girl, 14, Hit With Brick
A teenager is report to have been injured after she was hit in the face with a brick. The girl, aged 14, received stitches for a head wound.
Police have said the incident occurred at Orangefield Playing Park in east Belfast at around 8.30pm on Saturday.
They have appealed for information.

Two Road Improvement Schemes For Newcastle
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has said work is to commence next week on two road improvement schemes in Newcastle, Co Down. The schemes will total £324,000. Work on a £270,000 resurfacing scheme on the U6208 Shimna Road, Newcastle, and a £54,000 resurfacing scheme on Park Avenue, Newcastle, is to start on Monday 13 January 2014.

Number Of Roads Remain Closed Following Storm Ali
A number of roads remain closed across Northern Ireland following the damage caused by Storm Ali. The following roads are still closed, however the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is working to clear the obstructions along with its multiagency partners.

Belfast Road Improvement Scheme Confirmed
A road improvement scheme for Waterloo Park North and South in Belfast is set to begin on Monday, 22 May. The £166,000 scheme will include resurfacing of the carriageways and reconstruction of footways. Work will be carried out from Monday to Friday between 09.30am and 4.30pm.
