Pair Released Over Strabane Bomb Attack
Two people arrested as part of investigations into an attempted bomb attack on officers in Strabane in County Tyrone have been released.
Officers were lured to the Ballycolman estate on 23 October to investigate a report that a bomb had been thrown at a police patrol vehicle the night before.
But the alert was a hoax and a real bomb that had been packed with nails was discovered in the garden of a house in the area.
Over 130 schoolchildren and a group of householders were moved while the device was defused by the Army.
A number of houses were searched and two cars were seized by police yesterday morning.
Two men, aged 29 and 43, were arrested and questioned at Antrim PSNI station, but have now been released unconditionally.
