Further Weather Warning For NI
The Met Office has warned that further flooding could occur throughout Northern Ireland today (14 November) as more rain is forecast.
The advice comes after localised flooding occurred in a number of areas on Thursday evening following a period of stormy weather.
The latest weather warning has said that heavy showers are expected to develop across Co Antrim, Co Armagh and Co Down in the afternoon and continue through to the evening.
A spokesperson for the Met Office is quoted as saying: "This additional rainfall, following the recent wet weather, means that there is a risk of local surface water flooding and spray. The public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption due to flooding."
On Thursday, one of the worst affected areas by flooding was Newry, but the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said it attended incidents in "Newry town and the surrounding area, Belfast, Lisburn, Cushendall and Dromore County Down throughout the afternoon and evening."
Anyone affected by flooding is asked to contact the Flooding Incident Line on 0300 2000 100. Further traffic and travel updates can be found via TrafficWatch NI.
