Pensioner injured by burglars

A 93-year-old man has been injured during a robbery of his Co Down home early this morning.

The pensioner suffered cuts to his ear and an arm injury when he confronted two men who had climbed through a bedroom window at his Hillsborough home at around 8.45am on Tuesday.

After the assault the two men, who are described as being in their 20's and both dressed in blue, ransacked the home and left with a sum of money.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Pensioner hospitalised following burglary
Police are appealing for information after a pensioner was left hospitalised after her home was robbed in Co Down last night. The incident occurred at around 8pm on Tuesday when five men called at the 82-year-old’s house at Knockchree Avenue in Kilkeel. The men pushed past her and ransacked a number of rooms before leaving in a large dark vehicle.

One dies and another injured in house fire
Police believe the fire which killed a man in his north Belfast home early this morning was started deliberately. The house at Woodvale Avenue was well alight by the time police and fire crews arrived at the scene at around 12.30am on Wednesday.

Man Injured After Masked Men Force Their Way Into Belfast Home
A man has been injured after four masked men armed with bats forced their way into his home in Belfast. The incident happened at a property in the Shore Crescent area on Tuesday night, 07 February. They stole the victims car keys and made off in the direction of the Shore Road.

Two men have been arrested in connection to the robbery of a pensioner's home in Co Down yesterday. The 93-year-old man suffered cuts to his ear and an arm injury when he confronted two men who had climbed through a bedroom window at his Hillsborough home at around 8.45am on Tuesday. The robbers escaped with a sum of money.

Investigation Launched After Man Awakes To Burglars In His Home
An investigation has been launched after an elderly man found two men removing items from his home in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 21 June. The man was asleep in his home on Brookhill Avenue, when he awoke at around 3.30am to find two unknown men removing items from the house. The men fled the scene when the homeowner discovered them.
