Lisburn man beaten in paramilitary-style attack

A man has been treated in hospital following a paramilitary style attack in Co Antrim last night.

The 25-year-old man was asleep in his home at Lagan Walk in Lisburn when three masked men entered the house and proceeded to beat him with iron bars.

The incident, which occurred at around 11.30pm on Monday, left the man with chest, arm and foot injuries.

Suspicious Object In East Belfast Declared A Hoax
A security alert in east Belfast on Wednesday, 18 September, has been declared a hoax. The alert began shortly after 1.15pm when police received a report of a suspicious object in the Church Road area. The PSNI immediately launched a public safety operation, closing Church Road between Manse Road and the Ballygowan Road.

Girl Looks On As Man Beaten With Iron Bars
Details have emerged of how a man was beaten with metal bars by three masked men in a burglary in Co Londonderry. The men got into a house at Farranseer Park, Coleraine, shortly before midnight on Wednesday and assaulted the man in an upstairs room, even though a woman and young girl were present in the room at the time of the brutal assault.

Man Attacked With Iron Bars
A gang armed with iron bars has attacked a man in the Moss Side area of Coleraine. The man in his 60's was attacked after he answered a knock at the door at 8.50pm on Saturday evening. Beaten about the body and legs, he was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries. A motive for the attack has not been established.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
