Police Appeal Over Hijackings

Police are appealing for information after two unrelated hijackings occurred in Lisburn and Belfast over the weekend.

A car was hijacked in the Oldpark Road area of Lisburn, County Antrim, on Friday 7 November.

Police received a report at about 19:00 that a Nissan Terrano was being driven along the Oldpark Road, when the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa rammed the back of it.

Three male occupants were then pulled from the car, police said, after which three or four unknown men got out of the Vauxhall Corsa and into the Terrano, before driving off.

Another car was then hijacked in a carpark at Dunbar Link, Belfast on the evening of Saturday 8 November.

Shortly before 18:50, police received a report that two females had been pulled from a red VW Polo by about six unknown men. The men then drove off in the car.

It is thought the hijacked vehicle was then later involved in a road traffic collision with another car on the Falls Road at about 19:00.

Anyone with information about either incident can contact detectives at Lisburn or Musgrave PSNI Stations on the non-emergency number 101.

The independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
