Contract Services To Create 50 Jobs
A Belfast-based installation and maintenance firm has said it is to create up to 50 new jobs.
Contract Services Northern Ireland has said the jobs will be created as part of a £30m contract, thought to be one of the largest housing association maintenance contracts to be awarded. It is understood that the firm will undertake maintenance and installation work for five of Northern Ireland's housing associations over the next five years.
The contract will cover mechanical, electrical and general building services in thousands of properties throughout the region, and to meet the demand of the work, the company has said it will create 36 new jobs and add an additional 14 at a later date.
Contract Services is also set to invest in a fleet of 50 new vehicles.
Rory McNaughton, founder and managing director of Contract Services, said: "This is a hugely important contract and a very exciting time for Contract Services.
"From our humble beginnings in 2005 with a single engineer on the road, we have developed and grown year on year to get to the point where we can win and deliver a huge contract like this by providing a team of dedicated and skilled in-house tradesmen to provide all the required services.
"Winning the Abacus contract is not just beneficial to Contract Services but also to the local economy as we are investing heavily in new jobs and vehicles to help deliver the huge job at hand."
