Belfast Jobs Fair Opens
Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry is inviting local jobseekers to his Department’s Jobs Fair and Advice Forum at Belfast's Europa Hotel from 10am to 5pm.
The Minister said: "I am especially pleased to see job opportunities across a wide range of employment sectors at this event. This Job Fair and Advice Forum brings employers, support organisations and jobseekers together under one roof. Clearly these events demonstrate employers are seeking to recruit both seasonal and permanent staff and that there are employment opportunities for jobseekers."
55 employers have confirmed their attendance and over 1,500 vacancies will be on offer. Advice and guidance will also be available on a range of training and re-skilling opportunities. Major employers with jobs available include Norbrook Laboratories, Marks & Spencer, Firstsource Solutions, Concentrix and the Lloyds Banking Group. Large and small employers from across Northern Ireland will be available to answer questions, discuss training and offer employment opportunities.
A number of other support organisations, as well as employers with work placement opportunities available under the Youth Employment Scheme, will also form a ‘Youth Village' at the event to provide information, advice and guidance in career, educational and training opportunities for younger jobseekers. Exhibitors in the Youth Village include the Princes Trust, Include Youth, construction company GRAHAM Bam, the Irish Football Association (IFA) and Firstschool who are inviting jobseekers to visit their stand and talk directly to the company about any upcoming opportunities.
