Northern Ireland Secures Third Euro Qualifying Win
Northern Ireland's football team secured a record-breaking third win in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign last night via a 2-0 victory over Greece.
The result sees Northern Ireland rise two points clear at the top of Group F ahead of Romania, who they play next month.
Jamie Ward opened the match with the first goal, while Kyle Lafferty clinched another in the second half.
The result means Northern Ireland have secured three wins out of their first three matches in the qualifying campaign, a feat never before achieved by the country.
Manager Michael O'Neill's side are now looking increasingly confident as they seek to secure their place the 2016 European Championships, which would be their first international tournament since the 1986 World Cup finals.
Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín said: "This was a tremendous victory and leaves the team top of their group following earlier victories over Hungary and the Faroe Islands.
"With three wins from three games this has been a perfect start to the European Championship qualifying campaign and I wish Michael O'Neill and the team every best wish for the remainder of the qualifying games as they aim to reach the finals in France in 2016."
