Amazon To Create 1,000 New Jobs

Amazon has announced it will create 1,000 new permanent roles at its UK fulfilment centres in the coming months.

There are currently 6,000 permanent employees in Amazon fulfilment and customer service centres in the UK.

"Over the past two years, we have added well in excess of 2,000 new employees to our workforce and we are delighted to be able to add a further 1,000 to that number over the coming months," said John Tagawa, Director of UK Operations at Amazon. "We have continued to focus day in, day out on providing the very best shopping experience for our customers and as we see greater demand, we are able to rapidly grow our talented team across the UK."

Pub Chain To Create 1,000 Jobs
A pub chain has revealed its plans to build nearly 25 new pubs next year and in a positive move the brewer will create 1,000 jobs. Marston’s Pubs, a chain which already owns nearly 2,000 public houses across the UK, has revealed that it built 19 pubs last year and anticipates that it will build 25 pubs in 2012.

Northern Trust has announced it is to expand its operations in Limerick by creating up to 300 new jobs over the next three years. The expansion is supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.

Toyota increases UK production creating 1000 jobs
Toyota has announced that it will increase production at Burnaston in Derbyshire creating nearly 1,000 new jobs. The introduction of a three-shift system in the second quarter of 2004, will see am influx of jobs - recruitment for which is planned for mid-2003.
