Men Arrested Over Imitation Weapons Find

Two men have been arrested after police uncovered imitation weapons and knives at a property in Ballyclare, County Antrim.

A 42- and 51-year-old were arrested following a report of a man threatening his neighbours with a suspected firearm.

The incident occurred at flats in the Main Street area on Saturday evening.

Car And Van Set Alight, Newry

A car and a van have been set on fire in Newry, County Down.

The vehicles were left badly damaged after being attacked in the Blackthorn Grange area in the early hours of Monday.

Police received a report at about 00:10 on Monday morning. It is suspected that the vehicles were deliberately set on fire.

Properties Damaged In Shed Arson

A house and neighbouring properties have been damaged during an arson attack on a shed in Newtownabbey, County Antrim.

The fire began at about 03:00 in the Glenview Crescent area on Sunday. It is thought the blaze spread from the shed to a house and an oil tank.

A woman in the house was alerted to the fire by a neighbour and both managed to escape unharmed.

Teens Charged Over Attempted Robbery

Two males have been charged in relation to an attempted robbery in L'Derry.

The two 19-year-olds face charges of attempted robbery, conspiracy to rob and possession of an offensive weapon.

The charges relate to an incident in Northland Avenue on Friday evening.

Both men are due at Londonderry Magistrates' Court today.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Man dies in County Down fire
A 64-year-old man has died following a fire in a garden shed in County Down. Firefighters were alerted to the blaze just before 3am yesterday morning and managed to remove the man from the burning shed, which was situated at the back of a house at Reilly Park in Banbridge. It is understood that he had received burns to his legs and hands.

Fatal House Fire In Newtownards
A woman in her 30s has died in a fire at a house in Newtownards, Co. Down. The fire occurred at a house in Ilex Avenue at around 5.30pm and the woman is reported to have died at the scene. An investigation into the circumstances of the death is being conducted by police who have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Deadly Shed Fire 'Not Suspicious'
A man in his 60s has died in a house fire in Co Fermanagh. Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the fire but it is understood that it is not being treated as suspicious. The victim's two pet dogs have also perished in the blaze that started in a shed close to the house on the Snowhill Road in Lisballaw.

Community Fire Station Opens In Omagh
Public Safety Minister Edwin Poots has opened a new £4.4m Community Fire Station in Omagh, County Tyrone. The new Community Fire Station & District Headquarters on the Killybrack Road includes onsite facilities for firefighter training and transport and engineering workshops.
