Man Charged Over Margaret Evans Murder
A 32-year-old man has been charged with the murder Margaret Evans in June.
Ms Evans, who was 69 and known as Margo, was found beaten to death at her home in Knockancor Drive in Portstewart, County Londonderry on 4 June.
The man was detained on Thursday evening. He has also been charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
He is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates' Court this morning.

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with attempted murder. Alan Evans, from St George's Terrace, Dromore, Co Tyrone, appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates Court charged with the alleged stabbing of a 38-year-old man outside a bar in Dromore on Sunday. The accused made no reply when the charge was read out to him.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. The victim, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition after being assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. The suspect is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Monday, 17 October.

A man arrested in relation to the murder of 69-year-old Margaret Evans in Portstewart, County Londonderry, last week has been released from police custody but detained under the Mental Health Act. The 32-year-old man had been detained by police following the news that Mrs Evans was found dead in her Knockancor Drive home on Wednesday afternoon.
