Belfast firm ‘secures’ 93% of UK airport passengers
Belfast firm smoothes the secure operation of security for over 90% of the UK’s airport passengers.
With installations at almost all UK airports, including all of the ten largest airports, it is estimated that the CEM AC2000 Airport Edition system helps protect 93% of all UK terminal passengers daily.
“These figures highlight the success CEM has experienced in the aviation sector worldwide and the UK in particular,” said Richard Fulton General Manager at CEM. “AC2000 AE has a proven record as one of the most reliable and flexible airport security solutions available.”
Where installed, the AC2000 AE system controls the movement of passengers and airport staff throughout the facility.
From the check-in desk through to boarding the plane, the passenger's journey within the airport is controlled by the use of CEM access control readers. Airport staff can move passengers from landside to secure airside areas, such as departure gates, simply by swiping a valid card on a CEM card reader to open secured doors. Controlling such movement reduces the risk of security breaches and improves the operation of the airport by allowing authorities to segregate arriving and departing passengers to quickly move large numbers of people around the airport.
Installed at many of the UK’s largest airports since the early nineties, AC2000 AE has been continually developed and enhanced to meet the ever-changing needs of airports.
According to CEM, the AC2000 AE is more than just an access control system for airports. Using a suite of extended business applications, and by seamlessly integrating with external systems, AC2000 AE provides an integrated business solution that is designed to help airports run more efficiently.
