Appeal Over Armed Robbery In Newtownards
Detectives in Newtownards, County Down are appealing for information following a report of an armed robbery in the Grange Road area of Carrowdore on the evening of Wednesday 8 October.
At about 22:30 it was reported a man was approached by two other men as he left a premises in the area. One of the men is thought to have been carrying a suspected firearm. The two then tied the victim up and put him in the back of his own vehicle.
During the robbery a number of legally held firearms were taken. The man was uninjured but left shaken.
Detective Inspector Harry Colgan appealed for information.
He said: "Anyone who has any information about this incident or saw any suspicious activity in the area around this time is asked to contact CID in Newtownards Police Station on the non emergency number 101.
"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Police in Newtownards have issued an appeal for information on an armed robbery of a shop in the town on Saturday, 18 July. According to police, on Saturday night a man entered a shop on High Street at around 9:50pm and threatened staff with a knife, demanding money.

PSNI Detectives have issued an appeal for information following a reported robbery in the Drumart Drive area of south Belfast on Sunday, 13th November.
