KFC franchisee fined £8,000 for undercooked 'Zinger'
A Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise owner has been fined £8,000 after a customer complained of being served undercooked food at one of its restaurants.
Belfast Magistrates Court heard yesterday how Herbel Restaurants' Donegall Road premises sold an undercooked ‘Chicken Zinger Burger’ to a customer.
It is not the first time the company has been found wanting with regard to cooked food. The court heard how the company has been convicted of similar offences, at various outlets, on five previous occasions since 1999.
The company was fined a total of £8,000, plus costs of £66, for an offence under The Food Safety (Northern Ireland) Order 1991.

NI's Health Minister Robin Swann has said now is not the right time to impose tighter restrictions despite the rising cases of canaries related deaths and 1,485 cases of the virus. Around 8,000 vaccinations are believed to have been administered over the Big Jab weekend initiative at the SSE Arena in Belfast.

Buchanan 'Extremely Disappointed' Over Election Result
The DUP's Tom Buchanan has said that he "extremely disappointed" to have lost the West Tyrone by-election but that he respects the decision of the people. The MLA was speaking after he lost the by-election to Sinn Féin's Órfhlaith Begley by almost 8,000 votes. Mr Buchanan said: "The people of West Tyrone have spoken and I respect their decision.
