Renewed Appeal For Information On Kevin Kearney Murder

Police have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of Kevin Kearney in north Belfast.

Mr Kearney (46) was found dead in Alexandra Park lake on 08 October 2013, a day after he had left his home to walk his dog. He had been shot.

To date, ten people have been arrested in connection with the murder, along with over 20 searches carried out and more than 200 interviews conducted.

The murder investigation has been described as "challenging", with the leading investigator, Det Ch Insp Justyn Galloway, saying that there is a "potential drug strand" and "potential dissident republican strand" to the ongoing investigation.

Police appealed to anyone with any information about Mr Kearney's murder to come forward and said they are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was in the park on 08 October last year.
