Funeral Held For Nuns Killed In Crash
The funeral of two nuns who died following a collision with a police car on the A1 outside Newry is to be held today.
Sister Frances Forde and Sister Marie Duddy, from the Sisters of Mercy Order based at Ballysillan House on the Crumlin Road in north Belfast, were involved in a collision with a police car on Tuesday morning.
They were both members of the Sisters of Mercy Order and were on their way to an event at the Dromantine Retreat and Conference Centre in Newry at the time of the crash.
The funeral mass will be held in Holy Cross Church in Ardoyne.
Three policemen were in the other vehicle, an unmarked silver Mitsubishi, but were not seriously injured.

A new Child Funeral Fund, offering a one-off lump sum payment of £3,056 to help families with the cost of a funeral on the death of a child under 18 or in the event of a stillbirth after 24 weeks, has now come into operation, Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey has announced.

Funding Secured For Voluntary Teacher Redundancies
Funding has been found for 30 voluntary redundancies, Education Minister John O'Dowd has announced. It follows protests held earlier this week over the low number of voluntary redundancies that the minister had approved. Previously 46 voluntary redundancies had been allowed but only in schools that where due to close or that were being amalgamated.
