Former UUP MLA George Savage Dies, Aged 72
Former UUP MLA George Savage has died, aged 72.
The former Upper Bann MLA and Mayor of Craigavion died following an illness.
Former UUP party leader Lord Empey said: "George was one of the most respected Ulster Unionist Party representatives in the Assembly, a two term MLA, a long serving member of Craigavon Borough Council, and a former Mayor of the Borough. George was a solid Ulsterman who stood loyal throughout the troubles.
"The respect with which George was held has been obvious in recent weeks with the amount of people who visited George's family home. He was one of our most long standing members. We will remember him for his very dedicated work over the years."

Body Recovered From Connswater
There has been an appeal for information after the shock discovery of a young man's body in east Belfast. He was named this afternoon as missing Jamie Moreland, 15, from Newtownards, who left his home on Saturday evening to travel to a band parade in the city. It is understood he was last seen at a house party in the area after the parade.

Belfast Assemblywoman To Stand Down
SDLP MLA Carmel Hanna has announced her intentions to retire from Stormont politics. The south Belfast nationalist is expected to officially resign as an MLA next month. Ms Hanna will be replaced by another party member. Under Assembly rules, a by-election is not necessary as SDLP members will select a successor on 9 December.
