Security Alert In Co Armagh

Police have confirmed a security operation is currently underway in south Armagh.

The alert has closed Concession Road from Cullaville to the border, in the direction of Dundalk, Co Louth.

In a statement, the PSNI said motorists in the area are advised to seek an alternative main route for the journey.

No further details are available.

Roads Closed In Craigavon Security Alert
Army bomb experts are examining a suspicious object at Monbrief Road East in Craigavon. A number of roads have been closed in County Armagh due to the security alert. The New Line in Craigavon is closed from the Tandragee Road junction to Glenavon Lane and the Monbrief Road East from Roundabout B to Drumgask Road is also closed.

Pair Charged Over Co Armagh Security Alert
A man and woman are due in court over a security alert in Tandragee, Co Armagh. The blast bomb device was made safe after it was discovered during a police search in Woodview Park on Saturday 30 November. A 20 year-old woman and a 21 year-old man have been charged to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court tomorrow, Monday 02 December.

'Nothing Untoward' In Co Armagh Security Alert
A security alert in the village of Belleks in Co Armagh has ended after bomb disposal experts declared a suspicious object was "nothing untoward". The Newry Road was closed late on Wednesday night, 13 November, at the junction with Mountain Road and Kesh Road following reports of a suspect object in the area.

Security Alert Closes Armagh Roads
A security alert has led to a number of roads being closed in south Armagh. Police are currently attending the scene of the alert. A suspicious object is being examined in the Bog Road/Lisleitrim Road area of Cullyhanna, near Newry. Both roads have been closed as a result, with diversions for motorists in place.

Border Security Alerts Continue
A security alert in Co Armagh is this morning causing severe disruption to traffic between Newry and Dundalk. A PSNI spokesperson said the alert was in place on the M1, south of Newry. Gardaí have closed the road on southern side of the border and motorists travelling between Newry and Dundalk have been warned of significant delays.
