Three Arrests Over 'Suspected' Firearms Seizure

Police have recovered a number of suspected firearms in a house search on Belfast's Lisburn Road.

It is understood that police and army bomb disposal officers searched a property on Rathcool Street, on Tuesday night.

Two men, aged 34 and 27, and a woman aged 19, were arrested in connection with the finds.

The recovered items are being examined by army bomb disposal experts.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.

Gardai in Dublin, investigating dissident republican activity, have arrested a Belfast man. A police swoop in the West Park area of the city has resulted in five men being held by officers. Suspicious Object Found In Newtownabbey
A security alert is causing traffic delays in Newtownabbey. A suspicious object was found in the Whitewell Road area this morning, Tuesday 24 July. Police and army bomb disposal experts are at the scene. Diversions have been put in place and motorists are being urged to avoid the area. No further details have been released.

West Belfast Security Alert Declared A 'Hoax'
A security alert in west Belfast has been declared a hoax. Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene on the Springfield Road on Monday, 14 May. The object was found on the grounds of Whiterock Orange Hall. Residents have now returned to their homes.

'Mechanical Fault' Believed To Have Caused Car Fire On A2
A mechanical fault is believed to have caused a car fire on the A2 between Belfast and Bangor on Tuesday morning, 06 March, police have confirmed. Army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene just before 8.30am. The female driver was not injured. The road was closed however it has since been re-opened.
