Police Link Holylands Arson Attacks

Police have linked the burning of six cars in the Holylands area of Belfast, describing the incidents as "suspicious".

The vehicles were damaged during a spate of attacks in the university area of the city at the weekend.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, two cars were extensively damaged in a fire on Cadogan Street.

Then, just after midnight on Saturday, a car was set on fire in the Collingwood Avenue area.

At about 04:00 on Sunday, a car was left badly damaged in Damascus Street, while a further vehicle was severely damaged by fire in Cadogan Street later at around 23:30.

In the early hours of Monday, a car was extensively damaged by fire in Delhi Street.

Police have linked all the incidents, describing them as suspicious.

Vehicles Vandalised In South Belfast
Jerusalem Street in the Holylands area of Belfast remains sealed off this morning after vandals set fire to a number of cars. Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were called shortly after 3.30am to the area, where they found two vehicles had been completely burnt out and another extensively damaged after being set on fire. Earlier, at around 10.

Five Escape From Antrim Flat Fire
Five people, including a three-year-old boy, have escaped from a fire that began in a car and spread to two houses in County Antrim. Firecrews from Antrim and Ballymena were called to the blaze at Bleerick Drive in the Greystone estate at about 03:30 on Thursday morning. Firefighters led two people to safety from one of the houses.

Police Appeal Following Burglary In Ahoghill
Detectives are appealing for information following a report of a burglary in Ahoghill on Tuesday, 12th November. Police received a report that the back door of a house on the Ballymena Road was forced open shortly before 6pm.

15 Cars Damaged In Belfast Holylands Disorder
Police are appealing for witnesses following a night of disorder which left 15 cars damaged in the Holylands area of Belfast last night. Wing mirrors were ripped off vehicles and windscreens were smashed in the vandalism that occurred between 5pm on Monday 21 January and 8am on Tuesday 22.
