Queen's Shortlisted For Family Friendly Employer Awards
Queen's University has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Family Friendly Employer Awards 2014.
Due to Queen's innovative approach to family friendly employment initiatives, the University will now battle it out with 11 other finalists at an Award Ceremony on 24th September in Belfast City Hall.
The Family Friendly Employers Awards recognise organisations that promote family friendly working practices.

Firms that take a family-friendly approach to working hours and other employment practices are more likely than others to rate themselves ‘above-average’ on financial performance and the productivity of their workforce. They are also more likely to report that the sales value and quality of their work have improved during the past year.

Cycle Friendly Employer Scheme Launced
The European Cycle Friendly Employer Scheme, delivered by Cycling UK and supported by Sustrans, has been launched in Northern Ireland. The scheme recognises businesses already helping their employees to commute by bike, but also provides practical support and advice to help staff with their travel choices.
