Magellan Aerospace To Create 47 New Jobs
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster has announced that Magellan Aerospace is investing almost £6million in its Greyabbey operation and creating 47 advanced manufacturing jobs.
The Canadian-owned Magellan Aerospace established its presence in Northern Ireland in 2012 when it acquired local company John Huddleston Engineering Ltd. It currently employs 109 people. The global enterprise currently supplies products and services to leading aerospace customers including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, GKN and Spirit AeroSystems.
Arlene Foster said: "This significant investment involves the construction of a new specialised assembly facility and additional advanced machining technology, leading to the creation of 47 jobs which are expected to be put in place over the next four years.
"This investment will further enhance Northern Ireland’s aerospace sector which is of vital importance. It will strengthen Magellan Aerospace (Greyabbey) as a supplier of machining, assembly, supply chain management and logistics to the global aerospace industry. The new advanced manufacturing jobs will contribute additional salaries into the local economy as well as introducing new manufacturing skills into Northern Ireland."

New High-Tech Investment Creates 25 New Jobs
Minister for Research and Innovation, Seán Sherlock TD, has welcomed the announcement by Swiss company u-blox that it is to invest €1m in a new Cork operation, which will design microchips for use in Global Positioning Systems (GPS). The new facility will be located in Riverview Business Park in Mahon, Cork City.
